**Tip! – Be food safe: Clean and sanitize surfaces after handling raw chicken. The pink liquid in packaged fresh chicken is mostly water that was absorbed during the chilling process and can have bacteria that make you sick. Clean all surfaces and utensils after handling fresh chicken and the liquid. Wash surfaces and utensils with soap and hot water. To sanitize, add a teaspoon of chlorine bleach to a quart of clean water at room temperature. Always sanitize after you clean with soap and water. Bleach is most effective for killing germs when used on clean surfaces and mixed with plain water.
